Auction Catalog Now On Line

More than 200 visitors attended each of our previous American Conventions. They came from England, Australia, Japan, Hungary, Germany, Holland, Canada, Norway, Iceland and all over the USA to take part in these unique events.
This year we are planning for an even bigger attendance with a more-ambitious program aimed at appealing to everyone interested in collecting and using old sewing machines.

Activities will include:

Bus trip to a unique private collection
Bus tours will run to Kentucky to visit the eclectic collection of Gary Wacks, rarely seen by the public, and including the first ever Singer electric machine from the Thomas Edison workshops.

Bus trip to visit 1000+ toy machines
A shuttle bus will run from the Convention hotel to visit Faye Beckwith's museum home where over 1000 toys machines rub shoulders with  hundreds of other bygones.

Our program will include:

Friday, October 14
Registration, bus tours, sales tables set up, auction machines arrive, on-going competitions, Country and Western themed dinner, with fancy dress and judging.

Saturday, October 15
Registration, bus tours, sales tables auction machines, available for viewing. Dinner, followed by the Graham Forsdyke International Sewing Machine Quiz and Apron Competition judging.

Sunday, October 16
Sales tables remain open, and late auction machine arrivals may be viewed. Morning illustrated presentations from Barbara Janssen, curator at the Smithsonian and guardian of  the fabled patent model collection and ISMACS chairman Graham Forsdyke who promises something rather unusual..... Lunch, followed by, of course, the big event of the day, the famous ISMACS Auction, already looking to be the largest ever held.

Timings are still in the planning stage but we will ensure that there is plenty of opportunity for socializing with fellow collectors. Meet the big names from around the world.
